When Idea > Reality

After a decade or so of thinking it over, I am now fairly certain that the idea of vegetarianism (or pescetarianism–whatever) appeals to me far more than the actual practice of it.

A turkey sandwich would be really great right now. But it’s a bit of a hike to the Metro Gourmet (totally appropriate scare quotes omitted for no reason).

Where is it that everyone goes between classes to acquire fried chicken? No matter, there’s no way I’m ready for anything like that.

I never responded to your last message, mostly because I’m busy, partly because I visited this site and was impressed by your writing. Impressed in such a way that I felt I needed to be well-rested before attempting a conversation with you. As life drags on, I realize I will never be in my right mind again, so I may as well throw myself to the wolves of Mr. PB. There’s no better way to get back in touch with you than commenting on this turkey post.

    Love,

    Your Vegetarian Mason
