Hmmm. My lamp seems to have more leaves, but the sculpture of the woman is perfectly identical. Mine is straight bronze, though, and not painted gold (thank god).
The artist is Julien Causee (signed “J. Causse” on a small plaque on the wooden base, which looks to be oak), and it was made around 1900 or so. I think the wiring in the one here is original–perhaps not good.
Not a bad piece, really. And one auction site shows it going for about $2,000. I can’t tell whether that’s low or high. Clearly, there aren’t very many of these in circulation.
