Schumer, Craig, Allen

He can’t get over the “168-4″ sign. Sure, it’s clever. But if 1 is wrong, than 4 are worse. If it’s a question of right and wrong, then 1 is too many.

Larry Craig has a good point on Fortas, as well: it wasn’t really a filibuster, as Fortas was shortly pulled. Keep in mind that the time between the Fortas nomination and LBJ pulling back was something like 2-3 months. That’s not the kinf of time-frame that we’re talking about now.

Regarding Sessions: after meeting him earlier today, I have a lot more respect for the guy. He’s very humble and easy-going, but quick and gently devastating on his feet. His colleagues across the aisle clearly underestimate him, but, given the back-and-forth he just had with Schumer, it’s at their own peril.
